Another local place to visit is the ancient Saxon chapel of  St. Peter's-on-the-Wall                                                               which is perhaps he oldest church in England.  It was built in 654 A.D. by St. Cedd                                                                    on the site of a Roman fort. Each year on the first Saturday in July there is a pilgrimage                                                                 to St. Peter's-on-the-Wall and throughout the year many services take place there. 

The Othona Community founded in 1946 is a place where people of all religious beliefs go to worship, work, study and play together.  They have a programme of activities throughout the summer months for people to join in and make friends.  They also hold services at St. Peter's Chapel.

There is a seven mile footpath in a circular route around Bradwell on Sea.  This takes you past St. Thomas' Church and the 'cage', the old village lock up.  Further on you will go to St. Peter's-on-the-Wall and around the sea wall where you will see numerous birds and wildlife.  The saltings are part of the 'Cockle Spit' nature reserve for shore nesting birds.  After passing the Othona Community the footpath takes you past the Bradwell Nuclear Power Station, which has now closed down and round to Bradwell Marina. Coming back towards the village you will see the RAF Bradwell Bay War Memorial, a sculpture of a 'Mosquito' aircraft, on the edge of the old airfield. 

Other activities to do around Bradwell include golf, swimming, bird watching, shooting, clay pigeon shooting, cycling and jogging to name but a few and don't forget to visit the various Flower Shows, Village Fetes and Carnivals throughout the Summer months.
